New cost-share program available for virtual fencing in the US
Subcopy - if needed
Given growing opportunities for virtual fencing in the U.S., The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) implemented new payment scenarios to support farmers in purchasing virtual fencing equipment, establishing grazing plans, and implementing virtual fencing. Virtual fence will be cost-shared under the fencing standard (382) paired with a prescribed grazing plan (528). When improved grazing is implemented via virtual fencing, producers can receive an upfront payment to help cover the cost of collars and assistance in subsequent years to help cover the on-going subscription costs.
